Trees for the Forest Organic Cotton Batik Dress
Trees for the Forest Organic Cotton Batik Dress

This beautiful batik dress is completely handmade with organic cotton knit fabric. I use organic thread, pure beeswax, and traditional methods for batik. This features its own hand painted tree on one side, and a moon star design cascading down from the shoulder. This dress is reversible and can be worn with either design on the front or back. The color is a hand dyed, soft green undertone with varying shades of a deep Sedona red.
The edges are raw cut and do not fray. The soft and stretchy organic cotton fabric has been carefully chosen for its quality and strength. My batik process is rigorous enough to determine a quality garment that will withstand decades of wear and appreciation.
Care is very easy: Simply machine wash and dry.
Measurements are taken with the dress laying flat, not stretched. The style is designed to stretch gently, but not stretch out. The knit fabric complements the body's shape and gently loosens over the course of the day. The sizing and shape remains consistent with washing and drying, and the batik painting will stay vibrant for years to come.
The size model is wearing a size Medium as an example for placement of design. This dress size is considered between Large - XL, and is shown in the last picture (front and back).
Laying flat, measurements are :
20" across the chest
19" at the waist and
44" from shoulder to the bottom hem
33.5" skirts out wide at the hem
The sizing will not change with machine washing and drying. Do not hand wash - just machine wash and dry on medium/regular settings with similar colors or by itself. Soaking this dress, or hanging to dry must be avoided. It will not ruin the dress, as it is very durable, but should be avoided for the sake of the artwork's vibrancy.
