Golden Sunlight in the Purple Forest – Handmade Batik Pocket Dress, Size 2X
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is it — the very last of my sleeveless farmers market pocket dresses before I retire this style for good. The next versions will have short sleeves (eventually), but for now, this is your final chance to grab one of my most popular and versatile dress designs.
The Golden Sunlight in the Purple Forest dress is hand-painted in radiant gold and violet hues, inspired by sunlight filtering through deep woodland trees. The colors are rich, earthy, and a little magical — easy to style for everyday wear or special outings.
Crafted from soft, breathable cotton and designed with a relaxed fit, this dress is labeled 2X but works comfortably across a range of sizes. In the photos, I’m wearing it as a size 6, styled with jeans, a hat, and sandals for a playful layered look.
Features:
- Final piece in this sleeveless style — ready to ship
- Hand-painted batik design, signed & dated inside
- Size 2X (flexible fit — see measurements below)
- 100% breathable cotton
- Deep front pockets for essentials
- Golden sun & forest-inspired color palette
Created using the traditional wax-resist batik method, boiled to remove the beeswax for lasting vibrancy and easy care.
Care Instructions:
Machine wash cold or warm, tumble dry safe. Heat-set colors stay bright wash after wash.
2X
- Bust: 22” across
- Top of shoulder to the bottom hem: 42”

All Batikwalla garments are handmade and measured individually. Because styles and fabrics vary, we recommend comparing the flat measurements in each listing to a favorite item you already own.
Below is a general sizing guide to help you get a feel for the fit across different styles.
Size | Bust (across front, flat) | Length (shoulder to hem) |
---|---|---|
Small | 17" | 23" |
Medium | 19" | 24" |
Large | 21" | 25" |
XL | 23" | 25" |

🧘 Yoga Pants, Shorts & Leggings
These styles often feature a flexible waistband and stretch fabric. We recommend choosing your typical size based on how fitted you prefer your look. Specific measurements for rise, waist, and inseam will be listed on each product.
🪡 Tips for Measuring
-
Bust: Measure under the arms, across the fullest part of the chest.
-
Length: From the top of the shoulder to the hem.
-
Waistband: For pants and shorts, measure flat across the top seam (unstretched).

I want you to love your handmade batik, but I also run a small art-based business — so here’s how I handle returns and exchanges:
🔁 Returns
I accept returns within 10 days of delivery, but they come with a 20% restocking fee. That covers handling, repacking, re-listing, and the occasional touch-up if needed.
- Email me first before sending anything back: victoria@batikwalla.com
- You must ship it back with tracking
- Garment must be unworn, clean, and in original condition
- Once I receive and inspect it, I’ll refund your payment minus the 20%
💡 Please note: Shipping charges are non-refundable.
🔄 Exchanges
I don’t offer traditional exchanges — I handle them case by case depending on inventory, timing, and the situation.
If something doesn’t work and you’re hoping to switch sizes, please email me with your request. If I can accommodate it, I will. If not, I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Pro tip: My handmade batiks tend to sell out fast. If you’re unsure about sizing, feel free to ask questions before ordering — I’ll always do my best to help you find the right fit.

✨ How to Care for Batikwalla Clothing
(from the artist’s hands to your everyday life)
Every Batikwalla garment is made to be worn, washed, and lived in. I boil each piece during the batik process to remove the beeswax, which also sets the dye and softens the fabric. These are not delicate or high-maintenance garments — they’re durable, comfortable, and made to last.
🌀 Washing Notes:
-
Machine wash with like colors — warm, cold, or hot is fine
-
Tumble dry is recommended — especially for hoodies and heavier knits
-
Avoid bleach or harsh detergents
-
No need to hang dry (unless you're backpacking through Europe)
Machine washing and drying actually helps. It’s not only safe for the fabric — it can help remove any lingering dye and make the piece even softer over time.
Most of my garments are sewn from knit fabrics like cotton jersey or cotton fleece — these were made to move, stretch, and relax. Whether it’s a hoodie, tee, or pair of yoga pants, your Batikwalla clothing is meant to go where you go — and come out of the wash looking even better.
